Air quality forecast system that produces an open, operational and detailed forecast at 24 and 48 hours for Europe (12x12 km) and the Iberian Peninsula (4x4 km) using a set of models (emissions, meteorological and atmospheric chemistry) coupled and executed in the MareNostrum supercomputer. The forecast is aimed at air pollution managers and citizens interested in the quality of the air we breathe.

BSC Dust Daily Forecast

Operational daily dust forecast at 72 hours of the BSC Dust Models for global and regional domains. The BSC Dust Daily Forecast contributes to the SDS-WAS dust forecast model intercomparison and the Barcelona Dust Forecast Center. At the global scale, the model contributes to the International Cooperative for Aerosol Prediction (ICAP) Multi Model Ensemble.

WMO Dust Research Center

The World Meteorological Organization's Sand and Dust Storm Warning Advisory and Assessment System (SDS-WAS) -Northern Africa, Middle East and Europe Regional Center collects and distributes in-situ and remote-sensing dust relevant observations, daily experimental dust forecasts from several organizations around the globe (that are used to generate a multi-model product), information and training material, and news for the SDS-WAS community.

WMO Dust Operational Center

The Barcelona Dust Forecast Center is the first World Meteorological Organization’s Regional Specialized Meteorological Center focussing its activities on Atmospheric Sand and Dust Forecast. It is jointly managed by the BSC and the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET). The Center provides daily dust forecast at 72 hours based on our in-house BSC dust model which runs operationally 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Air quality forecast system for Mexico City that provides operational forecasts at high spatial (1x1 km) and temporal (1 hour) resolution for air quality assessment and planning relevant to the Secretary of the Environment of Mexico City (SEDEMA).

BSC Dust Numerical Database

The numerical dust forecasts of both the BSC-DREAM8b and NMMB/BSC-Dust models are accessible from this page.

Applications that allow to visualize the air quality forecast for Spain and Europe as well as the concentration maps for the next 12 and 48 hours respectively of the main atmospheric pollutants: ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulphur dioxide (SO2) and particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5).
